PASTORAL CARE PROTOCOL To the Members and Friends of Our Hope MCC, If you need pastoral care (prayer, visitations, blessings), your home church will be honored to be with you during those times. In cases of non-emergency, please contact the church via cell (706-202-3723) or through our Facebook page to reach the pastor. Alternatively, we have two lay ministers able to be with you as well—John Dement (706) 247-1382 or Regina Coleman (706) 247-6426. (Their contact info is a part of the weekly bulletin.) John and Regina have both entered a covenant with the congregation and before God to accept this responsibility. This, in no way, means no one else can. It is to clarify that they are representatives of the church, fully commissioned should the pastor be unavailable. It is at this point that you need to state what you need if possible—whether a visit, communion, or a prayer. To meet individual congregant’s needs and maintain some privacy, your request will be shared between the lay ministers and myself unless the requestor explicitly states otherwise. Information will not be shared with the entire church unless it is authorized. Just because it was posted on Facebook, does not necessarily mean that you want the entire church to be notified. We are individuals whom require varying degrees of attention. In some cases, a requestor may be content with a phone call or a representative of the church pay a visit. In other cases, a requestor may need more attention. The church is not responsible for transportation. If someone is willing to provide a ride, that is their choice. However, the church cannot accept liability. Any financial considerations must be addressed through the Council. Our Hope will continue to be a praying, caring community. Blessings, Rev. Tony Spears
